Someone recently brought to my attention inoperable Brack and HALFrack Buy Now buttons, which seemed to suddenly stop working for no apparent reason. They’re fixed now.
BROOKLYN, New York!! There’s a new CETMA Racks dealer in town, receiving a small batch of 3-rails and 5-rails this week. If you desire a CETMA Rack and prefer to buy locally, this is where to go: http://www.718c.com/
Since I don’t really advertise anywhere, how and when did you first learn about CETMA? Care to share?
Time for a new CETMA Cargo video, yes?
From Bethany in Berkeley (partially edited for length): Hi Lane, We’ve been too busy enjoying our Cetma to have a formal photosession, which I feel would be appropriate, since it has become such a fun part of our family life. Our 5-year old loves climbing onto the bike. Somehow I convinced my mom to go for a ride. She loved it. Great workout even in a pencil skirt. I made my own...
I’m changing my cargo bike boxes. In the past I commissioned a local woodworker to build them for me, using a wood called MDO (medium density overlay). Not anymore. New boxes will be built in-house by me, using marine plywood. I’ve got a nail gun, compressor, biscuit joiner, and a lot of clamps to do it. This makes me very happy. Having another aspect of production under my roof...

Weird but true story: Four months ago my wife sustained a moderate back injury and made an appointment to see the doctor for an assessment. The day of her appointment, her beloved Surly Crosscheck was stolen. After examination, the doctor recommended my wife not cycle until her back was better. “No problem”, my wife told the doc. “My bike was stolen today, ha!”....
The above photo was taken by David Haines, aka BikeRanger. Last year my wife and I went to the PDW warehouse. PDW stands for Portland Design Works. I shouldn’t need to tell you PDW is located in Portland. My friend Dan and his girl run the joint and were graciously hosting a party. Dan had recently obtained a velodrome called Circulus from a guy who knows how to speak quietly in a...
The Bicycle Works, Marin, CA.
Congratulations to another family in the SF Bay Area. New Largo purchased at The Bicycle Works in Marin. Box by Michael Bock. BOCK BOX!
Nope. I don’t like it. This looks stupid to me. A bad idea. Wrong, impractical, unsafe, backward, and scary. I rode a bike like this once. A couple years ago, a bike shop in my town began dealing these and they had a whoop-dee-doo party in the parking lot with beer and food to attract attention and offer test rides. I knew many of my friends would be there, so my wife and I attended to...
Hello and Happy New Year from Lane. Welcome, 2012. FULL-SPEED AHEAD!
